Salem’s ‘Witch’ Trials took place in 1692/3



Henry Hudson Kitson’s statue of Roger Conant stands unfortunately next to Salem’s Witch Museum. Understandably, many visitors to Salem mistake the figure for a witch, with its tall hat and cloak.  But no, Roger Conant certainly did not dabble in the black arts. By the start of the infamous witch trials in 1692 he had been dead for 13 years.
